Since Dean’s 2004 campaign blog and a snowball of agenda setting studies trying to prove it, this election is being influenced more than ever through abilities of the internet allowing true dialogue among candidates and the people. Yes…duh….of course. Well, here are a few examples:

Teaming up with ABC News, Facebook’s US Politics application lets users support a candidate on their profile and keep tabs on recent news and opinions of friends. ABC News poll results are given side by side the percent of Facebook users supporting each candidate, with Obama coming out on top with 58% of Facebook users, Hillary at 19%, and Edwards at 9%. C’mon Hill! On the republican side, Ron Paul leads with 38% of Facebook users, Romney at 16%, and Huckabee at 13%.

B.L. Ochman’s blog, which I absolutely love to read, points to Mike Arrington of TechCrunch being interviewed on ABC about their new site where readers can endorse candidates.

The popular social news site Digg has Digg the Candidates, where you can see what news stories the candidates are submitting and how many Digg friends they have. Obama comes out on top with 7,479 friends, Kucinich 6,667, and Hillary in 5th place with only 857 friends. On the republican side, Ron Paul is blowing everyone out of the water with 15,243 friends, Huckabee 1,001, and Romney and Giuliani in 4th and 5th place with only 606 and 552 friends, respectively.

The best part about Vitalist is the fact that they are listening to their customers. With the combination of their blog, contact page, and knowledge base full of previously answered questions presented in rank-order, they have the appearance of addressing users’ problems and needs as quickly as possible.

I complained in a few emails that their mobile version (www.vitalist.mobi) wasn’t working correctly on my new Verizon LG VX8600 and within a week they had set up a new version of their mobile page (m.vitaist.mobi) specifically for Verizon users like me. Yes, it was my phone that had the issue. But they discovered a way to work around Verizon’s problem. Flawless. Vitalist has an A++ in my book:

I know I’ve written about it before, but I just gotta say it again: Vitalist is my solution for keeping my ADD mind under control (or at least manageable). I’ve used other systems before my attempts to find a replacement for the executive function part of me that doesn’t work right—the control room or CEO of thought processes that involve organizing, prioritizing, and utilizing cognitive functions of the brain for important work tasks.

Well, I’m still using Vitalist as a GTD system that, well, just works. All my todos are organized by project and context (where I need to be to do them), and anything with a due date is automatically fed into my Google calendar, which then emails and txts me when it’s due. Vitalist also sends me a daily email as a teaser of things on my todo list. Love it.

Delexa uses traffic data from Alexa and del.icio.us to organize the top 50,000 Web sites by topic. Neat. And accurate.

Whoo hooo!!!

Although I’ve been using Tracks for quite awhile, it just isn’t everything it needs to be and I keep forgetting to use it. I do, however, still love Tracks because of its simplicity.

I may have found the solution with Vitalist, even though the layout is a bit more cluttered. SMS reminders is a biggie because I have ADD and can’t afford a personal assistant, and well, they have that. Also has a tickler file, a functional inbox, ability to email actions from my mobile (I get random thoughts and ideas anywhere and everywhere), and loads of other GTD tricks.

WTF is GTD? Stuff for nerds, of course.
