			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>Stephen Davies has a great post pointing out <a href="http://www.prblogger.com/2008/03/where-are-all-the-student-pr-bloggers/">the importance of blogging for PR students</a>. Why? Because it can jumpstart your career. I couldn&#8217;t agree more. Blogging gets your name out there, gets your name indexed in Google, creates a reputation that you know your stuff, and makes you money—hopefully by getting a job.</p>
<p>Students should think of the job hunt as running their own PR campaign. A blog is a great way to start.</p>

And <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/28/business/media/28target.html">they actually spoke</a> with the public relations department (because they&#8217;re a traditional media outlet, ah ha!):</p>

<p>Yes, at least for now. “We do not work with bloggers currently,” said a company spokeswoman, Amy von Walter, who agreed to speak with this traditional media outlet.</p>
<p>“But we have made exceptions,” Ms. von Walter said. “And we are reviewing the policy and may adjust it.”

<p>I do love Target, but not when their PR peeps act stupid and refuse to &#8220;participate with non-traditional media outlets&#8221; in lieu of addressing a serious issue.
